Bronchiolitis is a common lung infection affects the small airways called bronchioles in young children and infant, caused by viruses, commonly seen in very small children less than 1 year of age. It causes swelling and irritation and a buildup of mucus in the small airways of the lung.
The symptoms of bronchiolitis are much like a cold:
Is symptomatic, good hydration and sometimes nebulisation may be required if severe distress. Oxygen is required only if saturation less than 92 %. Most kids get better within few days and there is no role of antibiotics
